about uninstalling norton antivirus 2003

hi! i’ve got a problem. i have a norton antivirus 2003 installed in my pc. then i installed a McAfee 7 antivirus. however, the virus definitions of the Mcafee were based on norton. according to someone i talked to i should first uninstall the norton for the new mcafee virus definitions to take place. unfortunately, i can’t seem to uninstall it. it says there was an error in finding the path c:\documents and settings\all users\desktop. help! i really don’t know what to do. is there any other way to uninstall it?

mine is windows xp pro.
