access remote shared directory

Hi There,
We have small office in two buildings.Both the building are connected to internet by DSL modem. Both building are in different domains Ex: abc.com & xyz.com. Abc.com running windows 2000 Active directory and xyz.com running Windows NT 4.0Server as domain controller. I want client computers running windows 2000 professional in xyz.com to connect shared directory of abc.com. I have created a network connection it connect to abc.com dsl modem ip address. I can ping abc.com domain controller. But I am unable to see this domain controller in my network places. Why?. How to map remote directory.
