Access w2k from nt4 domain

I’m trying to access a w2k server from logging into a nt4 domain server. Workstations are Win98SE. Tried to load TDSCLIENT -fail. Tried sharing folders -fail. Tried creating users with identical logins with same passwords in W2k svr as they have in NT4 -fail.

How do I get the users accessing the second server to get to a database that resides on the W2k svr?
