Accessing CD-ROM drive

I have purchased a new Hard Disk and I want to install Win 95 in it. After installing the Hard Disk I have made settings to boot from CD in the CMOS. On booting the system does not identify the CD-ROM drive. How can I access the CD-ROM drive?
