ACPI REGEDIT REMEDY

I am having problems trying to fix the ACPI value on the regedit on a win98 Laptop. The problem is when you get on the SYSTEM PROPERTIES you always get the message that the ACPI driver isnt working properly. I must stress that this problem happenedright after updating the Bios for the machine. But I don’t get any problem with the power supply itself or the battery which seem to work fine. It seems that might be a software problem. Who can help me out with this?
