Active Directory

The person who was here before me installed windows 2000 pro on two servers. One is the domain controller and one is a backup. We have one other server that is for email and internet. All of them are not windows 2000 pro. But from what I am reading I don’t think ours are set up correctly. I have constant bandwith issues on my server and even though they run very few applications, the server is so slow. I would really like for someone to explain to me what I should be seeing or tell me where to look to see what a windows 2000 server pro with active directory should look like.
