Active directory design/DNS

Hi,

I have the following problem;
our servers are called whatever.xxx.com
And whatever stands for the servername.
We want to use active directory, but because we are a division we cannot call our tree xxx.com
We can only call it xxx.eu, and then the subsites whatever.xxx.eu, while the domain name search order on the servers and the PCs is xxx.com

Will this work or is this impossible?
