I have a client who is experiencing system crashes every weekend causing them to have to reload their database every Monday morning. The system specifics are as follows:
Windows 2000 Server
SQL Server 2000
Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server
Total of 6 users on the system
Former IT person replied as follows when I asked him what was up…
My question to him: “Are you aware of any processes that might be running at the time of the system crash each Saturday? Backups?”
Notes from ex-IT person.
“The reason the server freezes every Monday morning consistently is because on Sunday, when full Active Directory Indexing occurs, the system needs to access attributes as quickly as possible. If an index parse error occurs the server will lock. This will occur with consistency, like the behavior we have observed.”
Any pointers you can offer as to how to resolve this?
Thanks in advance!
