Add a “RUN AS SERVICE”

Does anyone know if a program, not necessarily designed to be run as a service, can be run as a service on windows 2000 professional. I have satellite DSL that needs to start a program after you log in, but I would like to run the program as a service so I don’t have to log in for it to run. Any suggestions?
