Add new server HD

Server is NT 4.0 SP6a, PDC, boots to RAID 5 SCSI array/adapter, no other drives, running short on space on the array.

For additional space, any known problem or issues adding new IDE drive on IDE1, do BIOS HD detect, then config with Disk Administrator? Set it Primary Master or Slave? Does it matter in this situation? Thanks.
