Add Sblaster win98 machine/w novelclient

After adding a sound blaster128 to a win98 machine with novell client 4.1 on it. It will no longer login, it just locks up, it will boot up if you cancel logon. Take the card back out and it logs on again. There are no conflicts in the irq’s. Removing the client and reinstalling does no good, still no communication with the network. The soundcard works every time. I have also checked the irq of the nic and the soundblaster card when installed, no conflict. These are pentium 200 mhz mmx with 3-com 3c9x nic’s, with 3 isa slots and 3 pci slots. The cmos is set to auto and pnp is turned on. Award bios with via chipset. Anybody got a clue?
