adding a new domain controller to W2k

I have a W2K domain controller with active directory on it and want to install another W2K domain controller on network to run DNS on it, the existing domain controller is over taxed, if I install another W2K DC to run DNS how will it affect the existing domain setup? am new to this, any help is appreciated
