Adding an array controller

Lets say you have a 2000 advanced server,using a compaq dl30 box.Two physical drives configured as a RAID 1 ,array contoller is embedded. A smart start CD is used so, all drivers and utilities are loaded. The system is up and running.

Later you want to add an additional Compaq PCI array controller to add another separate array of drives. Is this possible?
