adding second sata drive

hi can someone help
have a pc with one sansung 250g sata drive, decided to add a nother samsung 250g . when windows xp pro has started it says found new hard ware {mass storage} but not working as no drivers, it is found in bios but not in my computer i just want to use it for storage not for a mirror or backups. do i have to have the raid drives on can any one help please
