Adding WinNT to W2k to dual boot

by gshollingsworth . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

I have been asked to add Windows NT 4 to a system running Win2k Pro and dual boot. I understand NT 4 needs SP4 or better to access a NTFS 5 partition. I also understand that the recomended method is to install NT 4 first and to a different volume. Is it possible to install NT 4 to a NTFS 5 volume? If not, then after installing 4 with sp6a to it’s own NTFS 4 volume, can I “repair” Win2k’s Boot & startup to include the NT 4 as a dual boot? I would have the NTFS 4 volume follow the NTFS 5 andkeep everything under 1024 cyl. I know to use the SP4 atapi.sys during the NT 4 install. I am trying to avoid a complete reinstallation of Win2k after installing NT 4.
