addusers to Window 2000 Active Directory

I manage a high school network and we are in the process of moving from NT4 to Windows 2000. At the start of each year, under NT4, I ran a batch file which used addusers from the resource kit to create the user accounts, set initial passwords to their date of birth and place them in groups (700 student accounts). With Windows 2000 and Active Directory how can I do this?
