Aggregate list of service packs

Where can I find a complete list of up to date service packs and such for both MS Office and Windows products (mainly Win2k,Office2k). Like say I wanted to create a new workstation or server and wanted to know what the essential patches/hot fixes were for that specific install. Or a general list of recommended patches before going live with the workstation or server?
