AMD Emachines upgrade

Hi,

I own an emachines T2260 pc with an AMD Athlon XP 2200 cpu rated at 1.79mhz. I want to upgrade it to the Max CPU my MOBO can handle. Does anyone know the Max speed and model CPU this computer MOBO can handle? Also, What MHZ processor must be used to even notice any difference in speed? I am at the point where I am wondering if I should buy new but I want to give the upgrade a shot if all I need is a new CPU. Any accurate info is greatly appreciated.
