Annoying “My Pictures & Music” folders

I am a windows 98 user and I notice that under “my documents” there are always two folders that seem to show up. They are the “my pictures” and “my music” folders. As I don’t use either of these and have quite a bit of other stuff in my docs I am always deleting these folders only to come back a day later or so to find them right back. Is this a Windows default sort of thing and is there any way to get rid of them permanently.
