Im a novice IT support person currently studying my IT diploma in network engineering. I do a number of private jobs for family and friends and I am going to a mates place tonight to try to get rid of a virus he has on his computer.
Im just wondering what you all had as your anti-virus toolkit for when you go out to a site to remove a potential virus. Im thinking I might take the latest Stinger utility as well as AVG free edition. The thing is I would like to have something on a CD that would not have to be installed on the hard drive to do the scan and repair if a virus is found.
What would be your recomended steps to deal with a suspected virus on a computer you were providing support for? Can anyone point out a good way to deal with this?
