AOL freeze 6.0

Hi one of my clients got a flat panel monitor (Generic) he installed on windows 98 with 128 mgs memory Pent 3.Says he uninstalled it and went back to old monitor.Now aol freezes up every time he tries to access aol windows (Quotes ,Lifestyles,Healthstuff like that) But the internet browser still works fine.I uninstalled 6.0 then reinstalled even upgraded to 7.0 same problem .Please if anyone has a solution to the problem I will be indebted to them for life .
P.s. there are no hardware conflicts
