App that monitors what installs & where?

I am writing Winbatch scripts to run CD databases remotely. I need to know when I install the front end viewers for these CD’s what files are being installed and where they are being put. This needs to include the registry. Does anyone know of any app that will ‘monitor’ the installation of software?
