Application Deployment via Group Policy

by fortune_118 . Updated 23 years, 10 months ago

I attempted, for the first time, to deploy Adobe Acrobat 5 from a W2K Domain share to a W2K workstation. The application was assigned to the computer. It failed. I do not see the application advertised on the workstation.

WHAT I DID:

1. Created an OU and a group within the OU. The intended destination workstation was made a member of the group.

2. Created a GPO for the OU. The GPO was set to assign Acrobat5 from a domain share to computers.

How do I troubleshoot and correct this problem ?

How do I determine whether something is wrong with my process, or whether something is wrong with the application package ?

I did try to deploy Office 2000 also and it failed. The reason I did this was because O2K already had its own .msi, but Acrobat was packaged into .msi by me ( using wininstal). What am I missing ?
