Archived e-mail in Outlook 97

I’m running Outlook 97 on Win 98, and e-mail archives periodically.
How would I recover selected e-mails (or all e-mails)that have been archived? I get to a certain point and I’m not sure what to do next. Can anyone give me a comprehensive guide to reviving archived e-mail in Outlook 97? thanks in advance!
