ArcServe Doesn’t Backup Entire Tree?

by ksugars . Updated 24 years, 6 months ago

I’m on NT Server 4.0 with SP6a using the ArcServe Agent on a remote server and ArcServe 5 Enterprise to perform a backup. I have two different jobs that run (partial and complete) that include an entire user directory structure (around 3.3 GB – shouldn’t be a big deal.) I went to restore some user files today and discovered that only the first few folder nodes of the user tree are backed up – the rest ignored, even though the entire tree is selected. This has been going on for months!

What could cause this? Disk error? Resources? There’s plenty of room on the tape. There are no error messages of any kind. I thought it was backing up the whole tree (like it does with two other servers) but now I’m faced with explaining how this could have happened. I haven’t a clue.

Does anyone like ArcServe? I sure don’t.
