Arcserve Manager

Can someone pls help me with arcserve manager. I need to know what the exact steps are in putting in a backup job. For some reason currently when I back up it has got information on the tape that shouldn’t be there, i.e stuff that was deleted off the network long time ago. I only know this when I try to restore a job and when I look at the information on the tape it is really old,non existent. Can someone pls help out b4 I go mental.
