asp pages and iis4

I have a major problem with my iis4 server. Having only minimal experience with intranet’s I don’t know where to start. Currently my IIS server work’s fine with HTML pages however whenever a asp page is accessed the browser returns a timeout error. The intranet was working fine until i added some extra aliases and changed the syatem time zone. Any idea’s would be greatly appreciated. I have increased the timeout value and this has no effect it seems the ASP scripts are not running.
