Audio connection for Lite-on DVDRW SATA drive LH20A1L

by sarisack . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

I am putting together a new PC system for myself and I bought this DVDRW OEM on eBay. I have built several PC’s in the past, but this is my first with SATA HDD and Optical Drives. Everything is going well, except that there doesn’t seem to be an audio connection on this drive. There are the SATA power and data connections on the back of the drive and six pins to the left of these connections. None of my audio cables will fit on the pins. The six pins resemble those used for indicating Master, CS or Slave on IDE drives. My drive is working fine except that I have no sound (of course) when I play a DVD. I also installed a Lite-On CDRW IDE drive and the sound connection is there and works fine. I have tried to get support from Lite-on and it is non-existent. Can someone teach/help me?
THANKS
