Autocorrect causes winword error.

I have several user that are using Autocorrect in Word 2000. They are able to maybe use this feature once but after that they get winword error message. The boxes they are using have Win 98, and MS Office 2000. What might be causing this?
PS: I’vedownloaded Office SR-1 & SR-2 updates and still have the same problem.
