Automated Backup

Sometimes, during an automated backup in NT (using WINAT) i happen to notice that the backup has failed and no reason has been recorded in the event log.. My backup log file contains only one line Backup Status at times and not even that some other times.. What could be the reason?

Also let me know more abt these points.. Is it not possible for me to post questions here once i exhaust all the points?
