AVI video is shown on my Laptop but not on my TV

All my videos AVI, MPG, DVIX even my DVD’s (except the MOV videos)are not shown on my TV connected to my Laptop Compaq with the composite cable.
I have a PIII Laptop with video card: ATI Rage Mobility 8M. I used Windows media player 10, Windows media classic, Winamp, VLC, DVIX player …..

Please is ther anything else I forget to do.
