backin up files?

I have a dell… window xp operating system. windows wont load. i bought a software called fix it utilities which i can only open it when i boot from the cd drive. i can see all my files when i use this software but i couldn’t see them when i booted from my hard drive. My question is…how do i make a back up off certain files that i need if my only drive is a cd drive?
