Backup/Restore

I have a client that has a stand alone PC that is used for working with production pictures. The opperator couldn’t get the tape drive installed on the machine to work so instead setup a backup job using Windows Backup software that come with Windows 98. Two of the 12 disks have read/write errors but the rest of the disks are physically OK but Windows will not restore the sellected files. Customer needs 20 files from the backup – any suggestions.
