We have just ditched our Netware servers for
an NT4 only Net. We had been using ArcServ
to do all our tape backups with Netware
using the DDS DAT tape drives.
Our new DAT drives are all compatible
with the old Netware tapes but we areunable
to use them in NT Backup because of the
format difference. What is a solution to
this? We need the backup data on these old
Netware tapes. Should we install the ARC
Serv backup program in hopes that it will
allow us to read the old tapes? We kind of
wanted to switch to the Backup Exec program
and avoid the ARC Serv…but if we have no
choice we will use the ArcServ program.
Are we doomed to crank up Netware again
just to read these tapes?
Depending uponyour answers, what
versions of the program would you
recommend? (ArcServ or Backup Exec)
