Batch File to Transfer Data – PC Swap

Can someone point me in the right direction to either find software or to guide me through creating a batch file that will back up registry entries and data from one computer, store it on the network, and then copy those files onto the new computer.I’m looking at doing that on Windows 2000 machines.
