Benefits of IP Printing question?

In my company we do not have a Print and File server, everything is located on the same server. All of our printers are connected to HP jet directs and named on the server. Is it beneficial to keep it that way or configure all of our pc’s to print directly to an IP address on the jet direct. Will we save resources? Need benefits of both please
