Best printer for digital pics <$1000.

Any body have any thoughts on purchasing a new printer just for digital pictures? I have at least $500 to spend and the choices are many. The Canon S-9000 is looking good but it is not a dye sublimation printer. I don’t totally understand the differences between dye sublimation, bubblejet, and micro piezo. My main criteria are speed, price <$1000, and prints at least 8x10. My users (25) are shooting with 4 megapixel cameras so image quality is not an issue. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
