Big Troubles

by ogie_2001 . Updated 22 years, 11 months ago

I?m having some serious and continuing problems with all systems connected to my peer-to-peer network. I apologize for the length of this question, however I want to be as detailed as possible.

Systems:

Machine 1: 1 ? years old
Win 98SE
P4,1.7G
Asus P4te Motherboard
Audigy Platinum
Live Drive Sound Card
Asus Gforce 3 Video Card
256 MB RDRam
Promise Controller Card (TX2 133 Ultra)
3com 3c90x Network Card
Plextor Burner
Leadtek TV Tuner Card
DVD Player
CD Player
Floppy Drive
19? Samsung Monitor
80G Maxtor Hard Drive

New Additions:
Changed power supply a week ago from a 300W to a 350W because hardware monitor in bios said 12V was dipping to 10.94V regularly and machine wouldn?t boot until monitoring was disabled. Machine was working fine after change.

Problem:
Ran fine for the last year and a half since I put it together and all of a sudden during a game the computer froze up which never happens and on reboot the controller card was not recognized so boot stopped with a flashing curser in top left corner of screen. Went into bios and some settings seem to be different than I would have set them.
Tried to boot while composing this report and controller card was detected, which then found the 80G hard drive, however I got an error ?Bad Case Image?. The next reboot produced the flashing curser again. Next reboot back to ?Bad Case Image?.
