Changing to a 2gig hd, my bios had to be flashed with the Western Digital ez-bios tool to handle the larger than 500mb hd. subsequently when installing win98 ( after partitioning & formatting) it was unable to find a large # of files. it installed but in dos compatibility mode, and no recognition of the cd rom drive anywhere in my computer or from dos prompt.
on boot up I get a vnet.bios missing message. I have thought to provide the system devices with a complete set of mainboard drivers9 which I downloaded to a cd rom(too large for a floppy) but since the os doesn’t recognize my cd drive I am unable to make them available……2 questions at least..How can I get the win98 to recognize that there is a cd drive….Is the loading of these drivers a correct approach anyway?….A simple Godlike solution would be well appreciated.
