I’m trying to install,partition & format a new HDD for a IBM R31, with no luck. I’m usually very handy at this computer stuff, but I’m really stuck. The drive isn’t being reconized in the BIOS, though when I boot-up with Win98 boot disk the drive is reconized. I ran bootmaster and it also reconized the drive, but it it also gave me this error message,” The bios HDD detection may not be correctly translating the CHS parameters for drive 1″. I do wish to mention that before I got into this mess, I had up-dated the BIOS for this machine.
Any help with this would be most appreciated, as I have being working on this for 2-3 weeks now, and my husband is about ready to leave me.(not sure if that would be a bad thing). Also, it’s cutting into my fishing time. TY
