blank screen after logo

When booting a win98SE, being used as a server, the screengoes blank when the desktop is suppose to come up. Click on the blank desktop and get the message that “Explorer caused and Invalid page fault in explorer at…: Go to one of the clients and the server is working okay. everybody can access this files the need. Note Win95 Explorer.* is not on the drive.
