BOOKMARK ERROR

I would like to know whi in a Lan ,win2k server and 9 win9x Client , in 5 client that use an application in Access97 sometimes the application stop with “bookmark error”.
The software house said that is a problem caused by the Nic’s, we use a 3com for clients and Intel for server.
Have any suggest on order to help me
