Boot Sector virus on XP machine

I got a boot sector virus while downloading a file from the internet. I attempted to fixed the problem by fdisk /mbr on command prompt, it didn’t help. I reformat and reinstalled XP through the recovery disk, boot sector is still in my system. Cananyone help fixed this boot sector virus.
