boot up

i have a pc chips m925l 478 p4 mother board with sdram and ddr slots i had sdram in and changed to ddr now when i try to boot it will not pass preboot and stops and i can restart several times or let it set after first stop for a few mins and then it will start fine. If i change back to sdram it starts normal can you help me
