Boot up error

by leithel1 . Updated 22 years, 2 months ago

After using my P.C. one eveing I logged out. The next time I tried to use the P.C.and every time since I get the following message. The P.C. in use was not the one I’m using at this time. Please help.

The error message is:

(In the title bar) lsass.exe – Bad Image

(A big red x) The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\cryptdll.dll is not a valid Windows image.
Please check this against your installation diskette.

OK

When I click OK nothing happens. My computer won’t shut down. When I push the restart button on the tower it will try to restart. It goes to the Bios screen, then the screen that says IWill, and the Windows XP Home Edition screen comes up, but when it should go to the welcome screen that’s when the error comes up. I tried to go to the your site Q&A, but I don’t know what the heck I’m looking for. I thought it may be a virus????? I tried to look up info. on Norton with no luck.
