boot up issue

hi all
i am running windows xp sp2.when i boot it up the first thing that normally happens is it freezez ,so i have to reboot,then it starts to stop at different parts off boot up and gives a continuos beepi sometimes have to try 10 times before it stays on.when it does stay on it will run great for hours until i shut it down .i think there is a hardware issue but what i am looking for is something like software that i can run that will test my pc and tell me what part is failing
