I have two drives installed on a windows XP pro machine, the D drive is my primary SATA drive and contains the OS along with some other important data. The C drive also contains data but not the operating system. My system has been working flawlessly until last night…
I’ve considered the C drive to be an extension to the SATA drive so I thought deleting the five or six files which meant nothing to me wouldnt cause too much damage. Now windows will not boot and my SATA drive is not recognised, a format of either drive is out of the question. I have tried copying some files here and there but can’t remember how my boot.ini was setup or anything like that. I can’t remember which files were deleted either, this really is a bit of a disaster 🙁
Any ideas at all would be brilliant and I’d be very thankfull.
So far I’ve tried the recovery console, however this is pretty useless because it’s attempting to recover my C drive which never had an operating system on it…
