Booting WIn98 from ATA drive after installing Win XP on SATA drive

by c_achim . Updated 18 years, 8 months ago

Hi,

I have the following problem: One of my programs is only working on windows 98. I have now win98 installed on a good old ATA hdd and also I have winXP installed on my SATA hdd.
Both windows instalations are done with the other hdd unplugged.
I want now to have always plugged in both HDD and do a startup menu on which I can choose to boot Win98 or Win XP.

I tried to edit the boot.ini file and insert there the option:
f:\=”Windows98″ but it doesn’t work. The option appears in the menu but win98 doesn’t boot up.
Can anyone help me to make things work?

Thanks,
Cosmin
