Boot.ini

On a system in my office Win2k Professional was installed. User requested for a fresh intall. During fresh install I deleted the old partitions and created new partitions.
When I completed the installation I found that my Boot.ini was having an entry for previous install. I want to know when I deleted the partations where does this information was stored?
