Broken Mirror Set Recovery

by gjjew . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

I have an NT server with SCSI mirrored drives. The server just broke the mirror set. The faulty partition is the active partition. The server is still running. I read article Q113977 and Q120227 about recovering from a failed mirror System/Boot Partition and Booting From Mirror after Primary Partition Is lost. In both article it discuss using a Fault Tolerance boot floppy disk.

My question: Since the server is still running, why not use Disk Administrator to break the mirror set and change the active partition to the mirror drive system/boot partition? Shutdown the server. Change the ID of the mirror drive to “0”. Remove the faulty drive and replace.

Thanks
